Four Avenues of Service - Community Service

As one of four areas of service in Rotary International, the one that our club is most involved with is Community Service.  It has been that way since the very beginning for our club.  Our of out very first projects involved working with the Harrison Township Police Department during the 5-K race at Harrison Township Day.  Next, we worked on an Essay contest for Memorial Day and then it was on to the first American Cancer Society Relay for Life.  We have since started some very worthy projects that are close to our hearts such as the Veteran's Picnic, the Pancake Breakfast with Santa and the People for People Foundation of Gloucester County.  It is also a privilege to be the sponsoring Rotary club of the Clearview Regional HS Interact Club!

CHRISTMAS IN AUGUST -- HELPING CHILDREN RETURN TO SCHOOL - As part of an effort in combination with Trinity United Methodist Church in Mullica Hill, our members collected over 70 school backpacks filled with school supplies and gave them to 5 local elementary schools in our area. Each day the children from Trinity's vacation bible school collected different supplies -- pencils, glue sticks and other needed items. The Rotary Club pro-vided the backpacks and packed the items into the backpacks for children. In addition, some of the schools received new clothing that had been donated through Rotary. All of these items were distributed well in advance of the beginning of the 2004-2005 school year. (See pictures below.)
