This is the entrance to the tent where we served the Survivor's Dinner. Some participants resting before dinner. One of the Survivors graciously straightening out the banner for the photograph. Each table was decorated with a poem about Survivors and with minature awards for each Survivor. Survivors and their caregivers proudly stand up.
The food table almost ready to serve. Rotarians waiting for the Survivor lap to be completed so the dinner can start. Corrin Sellen ready and waiting to serve! Bob Sellen awaiting the arrival of the diners. The mixing of the drinks is such an exact science!
Dave Schad to the rescue! Now, how long until we can sneak some food for ourselves? Last year we stood in the pouring rain. What an improvement! Fran Quinn and Helene Lynch on guard duty over the baked ziti! Families enjoying their dinners.
The tent got very full with hungry Survivors and their caregivers. Note the proud Survivors wearing their special event tee shirts. One of the high school groups walking in the Survivor lap. Luminarias surrounded the entire track. Each one is in honor of a cancer Survivor or in memory of someone who died of cancer. Participants set up tents since they would be there all night walking on the track.
Two of the district teachers who coordinated the event.
